GRADES 6-12  |  JULY 13-16, 2020  |  WILDERNESS RESORT

The Wave is what we’d call the best week of 2020! It’s a week where 6th-12th grade students go to America’s Largest Indoor Water Park, Wilderness Resort, and experience 4 days and 3 nights with their people. It’s a place everyone belongs. Each day is filled with time to worship together, with messages that connect with teens right where they are at, time at the water slides, at the wave pool and please don’t forget that lazy river!  No minutes is wasted. Whether you are a Squad Leader, a program team member or a student we know Jesus has something special in store for this week and you!

Free Worship

Free Worship is a Christian worship team based in Chicago that minister weekly at their home church of New Life Covenant. The name Free Worship speaks to what the group wants all people to experience within their own worship. It remains a constant reminder that we must always make room for the move of the Holy Spirit. Their prayer is that their songs lead others into His presence and allows all people to worship God freely in their own personal way.

Whether leading a Sunday worship service, recording in a studio, or simply rehearsing on their own; Free Worship operates under one simple truth – We were all created to worship. It is their hope to be completely invisible in every situation so people do not simply see people on a stage but the Savior who has redeemed all.

Why are you excited about the Wave?

We are excited to be at wave conference because we know God has big plans to move in the lives of this generation. We know worship breaks down walls, heals, and transforms. So we are excited to help lead each young person into the presence of God.

– In high school, I was on a rock climbing team.
– I switched from being right handed to being left handed.
– In high school, I was in a metal/screamo band!

My days are usually filled with living life with the students at the Chicago Master’s Commission and raising my two kids, Reagan and Donovan.

I am stoked to spend time at the Wave connecting with Jesus and learning to live the way He wants us to!

Pito De Jesus

– I went bowling at the White House
– I LOVE the Cubs and Lebron James!
– I have never seen Harry Potter, LOL

My work, my wife, and my dog fill up my day.  Mostly my wife though because we work together so she fills up my day at work, LOL!

I love every time I get into an atmosphere of teenagers/young people worshiping and growing!  It encourages me to know that there is still good in our generation.

What are the dates for the Wave?

July 13 – 16, 2020

What is a day at the Wave like?

Students start the day spending time with Jesus, learning about Him from the Bible and talking to Him in prayer. Students can do this outside or in the room, as long as everyone sticks together.

Next, we’ll kick off the mornings with a combination of sessions, community groups, and fun! Sessions are a lot like a Level Ground night but better. Then, they head into small groups in the session to hash out what they just experienced. Leading them to Community Groups, where Squads meet up with a few other Squads and use their FUN PASS. Doing some group activities around Wildnress, and by midday, everyone is getting hungry.

Lunch is different every day, but it’s always delicious. After eating, students have free time to relax on the water parks, indoor or outdoor, lounge at the pool, take a nap— whatever the entire room can agree to.

Each night, we come together for dinner and an evening session. We sing, we learn, and we pray. Then, it’s back to the room for small group time. And maybe a little sleep. Maybe.

How much does it cost to go to the Wave as a student? As a volunteer?

Student tickets are $245 (Early Bird Special)

Student tickets are $265 (Regular Price)

Volunteer tickets are $75

What is the role of a Squad Leader

Squad leaders care for students by leading small group times, ensuring students’ safety, being on time, and making sure students have the best week of their lives.

What if my plans change? Can I get my deposit back?

No.  After signing up for the Wave, your money is non-refundable and non-transferable.

How do I volunteer to be a Squad Leader?

Fill out the Interest Form on the Squad Leader page.
This form lets us know you are interested in serving at the Wave. The Level Ground team will be in touch about your next steps.

Can I bring my cell phone to the Wave?

If your student part of the agreement to attend the Wave is to leave your cell at home. This allows you to enjoy a distracted free week and enjoy the people around you. Parents will have their student’s Squad Leader cell and our emergency contact. We promise, this only makes the week 100 times better.

If I graduated in the spring of 2020, can I attend the Wave 2020?

Yes! Students who graduated high school in May can attend the Wave as seniors.

If I start middle school in the fall of 2020, can I attend the Wave 2020?

Not yet. To come to the Wave 2020, students must have completed sixth grade.

What happens if there is an emergency while my teen is at the Wave?

There will be an emergency phone line for you to call and get in contact with your student. You will find out more about this at the parent meeting.

What if I can't afford it?

One reason we don’t ask for all ticket price at registration was to make it easier for families to send their students to the Wave by spreading the cost over several months.
