What We Believe

The Bible is true.

The Bible is inspired by God and, as it was originally written, is completely true and error-free. It is a fully sufficient and effective guide to how we should live and is the authoritative standard for all beliefs, values and practices.

Deuteronomy 4:2Joshua 1:6-8Matthew 5:182 Timothy 3:16-171 Thessalonians 2:13Hebrews 4:11

God is triune.

There is one holy, everlasting and almighty God existing in the three persons of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:1Leviticus 19:2Isaiah 6:3Matthew 28:18-20Romans 1:18-201 Peter 1:2

Humans are loved and prized.

Humans are God’s prized earthly creation. God designed them in His own image and made them to live in a perfect, harmonious relationship with Him and to reign over the rest of nature.

Genesis 1:26-31Genesis 2:16-17Genesis 3:81 Timothy 2:3-4

Humans are a fallen version of what they were meant to be.

Though loved and prized, humans are born with a sinful nature. Our first parents chose to abandon God and rebel against God’s values and authority. As a result, creation was plunged into a state of separation from God, resulting in strife, suffering, death, and hell.

Isaiah 59:2; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Romans 8:20-22; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; 1 John 1:8

Only Jesus can save and restore people to God.

Even in the midst of our rebellion, God loved the world so much that he sacrificed his only son, Jesus Christ, as payment for the sins of all people and graciously made that sacrifice available to everyone.

John 3:16; Ephesians 2:1-5; 1 Timothy 2:1-6; 1 Timothy 4:10; 1 John 2:2

Everybody needs Jesus.

The only way for humans to be saved from the consequences of their rebellion against God is to lay aside any claims to self-righteousness or self-sufficiency and to place their trust fully in the sacrifice Jesus made by willingly submitting to Jesus as their Lord and Savior forever.

Luke 9:23-26; John 1:12; John 3:16; John 12:32; John 14:6; Romans 1:16-20; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Timothy 4:10; James 2:14, 17, 19, 20

The Church isn’t a place, it’s a people.

The true church is composed of all those individuals who have appropriately committed their lives to Jesus Christ and have consequently received the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:38Ephesians 1:13-14Ephesians 2:11-221 Peter 2:4-10

The agenda of the Church is to make disciples.

The mission of the true church is to go throughout the whole world and lead all who are willing into a mature relationship with Jesus Christ through the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:18-20Luke 9:23-26Acts 2:37-471 Peter 4:10-11

The proof of being in Christ is God-produced character change.

The mature church of Jesus Christ is characterized by an intimate relationship with God, resulting in conformity to God’s character, perspectives and values. As a result, the mature church lives out God’s truth, love and power in a way that impacts the world.
